Why join Graduate Women WA?

Graduate Women WA is a Western Australian organisation with affiliations with Australian Graduate Women (AGW), and Graduate Women International (GWI).  Graduate Women WA was founded in 1923.  The WA branch represents and advocates the views of graduate women in Western Australia and responds to local issues of importance.  Through our affiliations with AGW and GWI we also contribute to National and International debate and activities. GWI is represented on UN committees UNICEF, ECOSOC, ILO and  UNESCO (consultative status).

Graduate Women WA provides forums for networking and support among graduate women.  We promote life-long education as part of the journey to help women achieve their goals. We provide around $10,000 of assistance in scholarships to support Western Australian girls and women, particularly candidates completing postgraduate research degrees.

GWWA is committed to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  We are part of the global cultural diversity of groups that strive to provide a wide range of educational, humanitarian and cultural  assistance programs that improve the quality of life of women around the world.

Financial assistance for women's education

Graduate Women (WA) helps women undertaking postgraduate studies by providing scholarships and bursaries. Through the long established Educational Trust Fund, Graduate Women (WA) provides annual bursaries and scholarships to post-graduate students seeking to enhance the outcomes of their research. GW WA also provides a scholarship to a student resident of St Catherine's College, provides scholarships for out-of-home-care girls to continue their education at the tertiary level and to support vulnernable students through the Smith Family.  Your membership contribution helps us to continue these initiatives and to look for new opportunities.
